DESIGN, CONSTRUCTION AND PERFORMANCE TEST OF AN AUTOMATIC LIQUID FILLING MACHINE

ABSTRACT

The present effort is to design and construction of An Automatic Liquid Filling Machine which is an automatic system for filling different liquids into the bottles or into the containers. This machine helps in achieving greater efficiency and accuracy in liquid filling. The filling process is done without any human touch. The machine is constructed without pneumatic system which reduces complexity and power consumption of the machine. During operation a conveyor belt is used to convey the bottles through a restricted channel. A rack and pinion stopper is used to stop the bottle in relation to the filling nozzle. When bottle gets filled, stopper releases the bottle and stops the next approaching bottle. Two solenoid valves are used to fill the bottle and holding tank. Holding tank is mainly used for measuring the volume of liquid to be filled. This is done with the help of a mechanical float switch. Bottles are fed to the convey line with the help of a rotating feed table. All these tasks are carried out automatically. This automation process is done with the help of a PLC
