ABSTRACT

The work presented in this project work deals with and construction of a drill jig. The employment of a drill jig is an important aspect of workshop engineering for the production of articles in large quantities with a high of accuracy and interchangeability at competitive cost. The purpose of jig is to maintain low manufacturing costs and to increase industrial efficiency. It is also used to speed up machining times by eliminating time of handling and setting of the component parts. Further, jigs are taking the place of the skilled man in the production factory and making it possible to employ unskilled or semi-skilled operators. A drill jig has been designed and constructed.
